1. Working Principle
2. Performance Features
(1) Precise and Control
Electric cylinder has higher accuracy and better control performance. Since its movement is achieved through the precise control of the motor, positioning accuracy can achieve micron level, and complex motion and speed control can be achieved. The accuracy of hydraulic cylinder is relatively low, affected by the leakage of the oil, oil temperature change and other factors, the control accuracy is hard to ensure.
(2) Movement Speed
The hydraulic cylinder usually has faster moving speed.
(3) Thrust and Payload capacity
Hydraulic cylinder can provide large thrust and load capacity, suitable for heavy load and large torque working environment. The thrust and load capacity of the electric cylinder is relatively small, and it is generally suitable for light load and small and medium torque applications.
(4) Speed adjustment
The speed range of the electric cylinder is wide, which can achieve low speed smooth operation and high speed movement, and the speed adjustment is more convenient. The speed adjustment of the hydraulic cylinder is relatively complicated, and crawling is easy to occur at low speed, and the flow and pressure of the hydraulic system are limited at high speed.
(5) Reliability and maintenance
The structure of the electric cylinder is relatively simple, there is no complex hydraulic system, so the reliability is high and the maintenance cost is low. The hydraulic cylinder needs regular inspection and replacement of seals, hydraulic oil, etc., and the maintenance work is more complicated, and the hydraulic system is prone to leakage and other failures.
(6) Environmental adaptability
The electric cylinder has relatively low requirements for the environment and can work in harsh environments, such as high temperature, low temperature, humidity, dust and so on. The hydraulic cylinder has high requirements for the environment, especially the cleanliness and temperature of the hydraulic oil, otherwise it is easy to affect the normal operation of the system.
In summary, the electric cylinder and hydraulic cylinder have their own advantages and disadvantages. In practical applications, it is necessary to select the suitable actuator according to the specific working requirements, load characteristics, precision demands, environment conditions and other factors.
