Electric Linear Actuators for Food Processing Equipment

2025 05/09

In assembly line food processing equipment, electric cylinders (electric actuators) are used, especially in links that require precise control, high hygiene requirements or a high degree of automation.

1. Applicable scenarios of electric cylinders
Electric cylinders achieve linear motion by driving a lead screw or belt through a motor. Compared with pneumatic or hydraulic systems, they are cleaner, more precise, and easier to control, and are suitable for food processing environments:

Precise positioning: Such as slice thickness adjustment and movement of packaging manipulators.

Hygiene requirements: No risk of oil leakage (pneumatic systems require lubrication and may contaminate food).

Programmability: Cooperate with PLC or industrial robots to achieve complex actions (such as sorting and palletizing).

2. Typical application examples
(1) Sorting and arranging
Fruit and vegetable sorting line: The electric cylinder drives the rejecting mechanism of unqualified products, or adjusts the width of the sorting track.

Packaging arrangement: Controls the lifting or translation of the tray to ensure that the food enters the packaging machine neatly.

(2) Cutting and forming
Automatic slicer: Adjusts the blade position or the height of the feeding platform (such as ham and cheese slicing).

Mold stamping: Controls the pressure and stroke of the forming mold (such as biscuit and sushi rice cake forming).

(3) Filling and filling
Sauce/liquid filling: Precisely controls the up and down movement of the filling head to avoid dripping.

Quantitative filling: Pushes the piston filling pump to ensure that each portion has a consistent weight.

(4) Packaging and sealing
Vacuum packaging machine: The electric cylinder drives the sealing strip to press together and adjusts the pressure and time.

Labeling machine: Adjusts the position and angle of the labeling arm.
